    has a riveted seam, rolled top, galvanized, fairly heavy.

      You likely have an early (1920 or early) galvanized steel drum. I base this on the riveted side seam you mention. There may be more drum manufacturer embossing on the bottom of the drum. Let me know if you find more embossing.
