Are you sure it is painted and not mixed metals inlaid?
What a lovely vase! Also agree with kyratango, looks like inlaid metal.
Hi kyratango and katherinescollections thank you both for your comments. I'm pretty sure that it is hand painted. What can't be seen is the rest of scene - flocks of birds, pine nettles coming out of tree boughs and a few other little things, I may have washed them off in the past but the outlines can still be seen. :)
Uh... Still beautiful, but always be cautious when cleaning ;-)
