    I found three of these trinket boxes at an estate sale. They were the only items like it so I couldnt get a reference to where or when they are from. Looks very primitive which is why I think it's from the 1600s 7in lx 3 1/2in wx 3in h.

      The design looks like Art Nouveau to me, which would place it around the 1890-1910 mark. Go to Google Images and type in "Art Nouveau period brass box" and you will see many similar design styles.
