This item was also my Grandmothers that was handed down to me by my Uncle after my Grandmother passed. I think it is pewter but was painted by my Uncle. I'm not sure the age or origin of this jewelry/music box.
There are no markings on this item. The base has wooden legs. The music still plays. There are angles on the side.
The movement is probably Swiss. Other than that, there's no information available about this music box.
It could be Japanese, too. It looks to me like a 1930s -40s tabletop ashtray.
