Old Medical cabinet?

I picked this up at a yard sale today for $10 bucks. I thought it would look cool if I refinished it or painted it and used it in my craft room. It is in good shape, mostly just needs cosmetic work. It is solid wood but not sure what kind as there are no markings on it other than the piece of glass that says Sterilizer. I did a quick search online and it appears to be an old medical or barbershop cabinet from the 40s or 50s based on similar items. It's about 3.5 feet tall x 1.5 feet wide by 1 foot deep. Any more info on it would be appreciated. I am hesitant to mess with it too much other than to clean it up if it has some value so I am holding off until I know more about it. Thanks
