Vintage Flit kilss insects enamel sign end 1920s
    This sign is very interesting.
It was used in a publicity campaign in 1927 to promote the new Flit tin.
When i did buy it, it was very dirty. I did clean it carefully and it looks bright now.
Very nice piece, not common at all!

One of the first jobs illustrator Theodor Geisel (Dr Seuss) got out of school was illustrating ads for FLIT, which contained the environmentally harmful agent DDT. Some have speculated that Suess's later stories encouraging environmental conservation stemmed from a sense of wanting to undo his earlier efforts on behalf of FLIT

Amazing!! We used Flit in our home and it killed flies & bugs fast
      unlike Raid
no truth in their advertisments (at least for AZ. bugs.)

So that's where the term "flit" comes from. In the tropics, you hear regularly, "Flit the room", "Flit the house", meaning spray for bugs like mosquitoes. 44 Years in the tropics and finally know the source of the term !
