Long Handle Shoehorn with Tortoise Shell Horn and End, and Knotty Wooden Shaft

Tired of stooping or bending over to put on my dress shoes, I’ve recently acquired this unique long-handled shoehorn. The horn and carved boot appear to be real tortoise shell. And the knotty wood shaft is cool, too. Unfortunately, it is not marked. Anyone have an idea of origin, age, or type of wood? Length: 20-5/8”
