My mom recently gave me this chair that my dad referred to as the "Which Way Chair". It came from my paternal grandparents so we believe it to be from the late 1800's or early 1900's. It's very comfortable to sit in, just don't lean back ! Have not found any markings or identification on the chair so we don't know who made it or where it came from. Any ideas as to who made this chair and what the real name is ?

Not sure about the 'which-way' aspect - but I DO know, that from either direction, a lady wearing a dress with an ever-so-fashionable BUSTLE would be able to be seated, and still keep her dress tidy :-)

Can't you tell that your pic is from the back?
