A handsome real-photo postcard showing a herd of Roosevelt elk in the meadow at Prairie Creek State Park along the Redwood Highway. We have elk in my local area, although about the only time I see them is if we've had a bad snow storm up in the mountains, and I happen to be passing through shortly afterwards.
One of the locals puts out bales of hay for them in a mountain meadow, and boy howdy, do they ever turn out in droves for that.
