This uniform grouping is for a T/3 or Technician Third Grade in the Advance Section Communications Zone, ETO.

The logistics unit was established in early 1944 with job of supporting The D- Day Invasion planning and the initial phases of the invasion.

The jacket has the unusal "X" stitching pattern on all of the insignia except the Honorable Discharge insignia (Ruptured Duck).

Additionally, the soldier has added an embellishment to the unit patch which probably designates his particular unit (not official). Scarlet and white are the colors for the Engineer Corps.

The uniform has a JUN 1944 date, so it probably saw later service during the advance into Germany.
