      I think this was made during the Cairn's "War Baby" days. 1950's - 1960's

      I think the value is around $200.00.

      The helmet is earlier: 1940s (see the manufacturer's plate inside: Cairns was in NYC until after WW2, when they moved to Clifton NJ). The front shield looks more recent given that the letters are printed rather than leather cut-outs. That is not unusual, however, as when firefighters routinely rotate companies or get promoted, they will typically change front shields but keep their old "lid".

      Probably Revere MA, just north of Boston, which is a good and busy FD.

      Nice helmet: I agree that $200 sounds around right.
