I love cameos that look like real people.This has been carved from the actual child.It is around 1840 and set in gold.

Love it! Although the face does look more like a boy I say its a girl, because it looks like a dress with ruffles and a doll in her hand.

I do not think it is a mourning cameo I think it is a portrait cameo before pictures

Mani your right again. I guess they did wear dresses back than. I first thought it was a doll in his hand. I just took a closer look and it looks like some kind of scarf.
