'Palazzo' from 1968: a huge three inches! The whole line is reminiscent of South Asian 24 carat gold jewellery, although it was also produced in silvertone. Matching bracelet is a book piece in 'Monet the Master Jewelers' by Alice Vega, two statement necklaces and two earring designs are shown in a catalogue page. There is also a smaller two inch brooch.

Vintage Monet seems so undervalued - especially the brooches - given many of their modernist designs were ahead of their time and the quality was high. I was interested to read this Wall Street Journal article 'Bring Back the Brooch'

The reason that Monet is low in price is because the jewelry market is overflowing with it, there was just SOOO much made. No matter how attractive it is, it would have to be scarce for the price to rise, like HAR or Neiger or Haskell. Scarcity is the most important factor in determining value in the collectibles market

Thank you for making the first comment on any of my pieces, Stillwater! I guess I am comparing Monet to brands like Sarah Coventry which is equally common, highly collectible yet not as good quality on average. I have been musing that perhaps it is because Monet is still in production and the more modern stuff is fairly low quality.
