    Hi,
This hat/helmet has a felt/wool cover over a hard shell. There was a firemans badge on the front which has been removed. The dangler is sewn on. it does not move. The sweat band is leather, and if there was any identifying markings, they are long gone. I did inspect the underside of the band.
    Any insight is appreciated
    Thank you

I hate to sound stupid but did anyone read what was on the badge? If you didn't see the badge how did you establish it was a fire badge?

      Hi,
I am actually looking for the badge. I took it off years ago. Being the dolt that I am, I didn't think it belonged to the hat, but was added to it just so there was place for it to go. My uncle actually had this in a bar that he owned many many years ago.
I will post a photo if I find the badge.

Looks like something one of the 7 dwarfs might have misplaced.

      Smurf Special Forces?
      Sorry, couldn't resist.
Are there any markings on the back of the side button? Is that a pebbled finish on the button? do you recall if the un-faded area matched the shape and size of the badge? I gotta tell ya, I'm clutching at straws here.

      Hi,
The button has a smooth finish, and nothing on the backside of it.
The badge was the approx. size of the faded area on the front
