    This small string of brass tools are button hole gauges.
    By using these tools when making a garment, the seamstress would be able to gauge the button hole size to a common size button. Each progressively larger gauge represented a common size button.
    In short, the tool acted like a button when pushed through the newly made button hole. ........ hotairfan.
