      Shape is refered as Dagobert seat, derived from curule seat.
      For sure, your is not from yesterday!
      I feel it beeing around 1880 (medieval revival fashion!)
      Some furniture experts may be more precise if you post detailed pics of assemble :-)

      Two other terms are used for these chairs too: a Dante chair and a Savanarola chair.
