Mt Washington Burmese

Mt Washington Burmese glass is a creamy custard glass that when reintroduced to heat began to change to a pink/salmon color. Depending upon how long it was exposed to heat, determined how much the salmon color there was.
The center tall Ribbed Pillar shakers illustrates this. There are times when this formula was not reintroduced to heat and the custard color is only there. Often this is called "Undeveloped Burmese".
At times the piece may be exposed longer to heat and the salmon color ir present from top to bottom. Some call this "Overdeveloped Burmese". This is demonstrated in the Mt Washington Tomato and Egg shown. The egg in my opinion is the least often seen in developed Burmese.
As you can see in the next picture, Burmese glass glows under a black light.
Burmese glass may be found in both a satin finish as well as shiny. Satin is found more often though.
