This reminds me of pottery i've seen by Brayton Laguna from the 1930s / 40s, but i don't think it's that old. the colors are very subtle and nice on this piece. i rubbed some ash in the incised words on the bottom, but i still can't read it. it's very nicely made.

I can not make out either.....maybe try in the sunlight. All I think I CAN see is:

........or something like that??
