      Japanese and I believe the figures are the seven gods.

      japanese ? it reads Jurentang in Chinese , this is a coral glaze gilt , this ought to be chinese republic period 1912-1949, maybe slightly later , actually this is a value vase

      to me it looks real , this is one made for the hall where one dwells in benevolence
