Hello! So I have been wanting to do this for a while but couldn't not find an antique bentwood trunk in decent shape. I'm not sure this is allowed here but I have seen some pretty amazing turns of all sorts of trunks, I just happened to make mine a theme replica (with legs)!
I found this gem about an hour away and aside from being painted white with a map of Oregon plastered on it, this was perfect! The canvas was still all intact, the locks work, it opens and closes nicely, I mean this was great! Up here in Oregon these really are hard to find.
But I have a friend who is die hard Harry Potter, and I knew I could make this for her. So as a gift, I made this into a replica fan made Harry Potter trunk coffee table, or what ever she wants to use it for.
But I thought it turned out better than my expectations, and I just had to share it!!!
I hope it's ok on here, I mean it is an antique trunk and I did refinish it. LOL

I think you meet all the criteria of an excellent post -- I am not a big fan of putting legs on trunks but for some it just works and this would be an example -- and these steamers are just a bit too low for coffee tables.. The aged look on the brass corners is nice -- they would shine up beautifully with fine steel wool but I imagine you chose to leave the patina on them.. total effect of this piece is very nice..

Wow! Thank you each so much!! Trunk man, I wanted to sand the brass corners but I think someone may have previously because the just were steel colored. The only brass would be the locks. So I opted to clean them a bit and leave it alone. Thank you for the compliments!
Drill, I'm not making an owl. ???? But I will take the 10 points! Thank you!!
      Thank you a ton jscott0363!!

After a good game of Quiddich you should be ready for anything. Or you could help this guy pack his stuff to go.
