Cast Iron File Handle with Rectangular Thumb Screw

This is a cast iron handle with thumb screw that allows one to interchange files as needed. I've seen similar handles referred to as of "bird cage" and "skeleton" design.

There are no markings on the handle to provide manufacturer by which one might identify and date it. The handle measures 5" in length.

Based on the shape and style of the cut-out holes in the handle, I do not believe it to be an E.C. Stearns handle.
