I could not find the artist online. I think it is South American (Guatemala?) made. Mayan? It is handmade and says Alisa? And the year in the 90s. Does anyone know anything about the artist and the work? Oil painting or acrylic?

We know that it is Guatemalan, which is Central America. Nebaj short for Santa Maria Nebaj in the Quiche Highlands - los Cuchumatanes [the mountain range]. They speak Quiche and the women are known for their very colorful outfits with lots of big pompoms. It's a beautiful area!

Thank you. The clothing the women wear is definitely colorful and festive.
