Art glass vase with sterling silver overlay marked D481

A green art glass vase with sterling silver overlay pattern. It is marked on the bottom silver band "Sterling" and "D 481". No other marks that I can find. While not definitive, a very helpful and informed opinion was that this is likely American glass, early 1900's and might have been made by Gorham? Any information would really be appreciated.
