I'm a racing fan myself & also thought of Saratoga (August almost here!) when I found this, my brother & I had a great visit to Saratoga several yrs back - we saw the Whitney Stakes, went to the racing museum, and to an art exhibit of horse paintings by Jeness Cortez which was wonderful. I'm a New Yorker (Long Island), but feel the Saratoga NY residents have to be the friendliest people I've ever encountered, you made new friends just going to the bakery, really lovely folks :)

Phil thanks so much for your wonderful compliment & agree this is a popular theme, yet finding a really nice designer horse racing brooch was challenging. When I visited Saratoga yrs ago I did buy a pretty pin there showing a horse & rider, but of course over time it's been lost. A good reason to go back to that lovely town for another visit :)
Thank you Lauren for your marvelous praise for this racing piece, you are totally right it has alot of movement and action, I can imagine the jockey maneuvering his way to the front on his trusty steed! Horses are such beautiful animals esp the thoroughbreds that race, and that is one place they are well treated & coddled over to keep them healthy
