From the seller:
There is so much history in this Georgian era, authentic English 9K gold ring. It is dating back to around 1820. The centerpiece of this stunning piece is a hand- painted skull. Rare mourning piece, 8 genuine coral cabochons. Unmarked, tested 9K. The intricate design embodies the craftsmanship of the early 19th century. This rose gold ring, in size 8, features a skull motif, a nod to the period's fascination with mortality and a common emblem of the Georgian era's mourning jewelry. Despite its antique origin, the ring remains a timeless piece of fine jewelry, perfect for collectors and enthusiasts of antique treasures.
It was purchased at an estate sale in Vermont near Putney. Some members of the family came from England. This ring was in their family for generations and is in really good condition despite its long life.
This ring is somehow connected to the well-known Bradley family of Vermont.
