Tree Peonies - Keep Cool [wooden box]

I found this large wooden box today. There is a screened window on each side - for air circulation, i imagine. These were sent from Japan to San Francisco - probably mid-century. It's very large at 3.5 ft long. Tree peonies are beautiful and still not that common in the Americas.
